Terms of Service

Welcome to Snack Signal. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Jamnaytac LLC, a Delaware limited liability company operating Snack Signal and Grocelytics (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Snack Signal — the app at app.snacksignal.com, our mobile apps, and this site — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

What Snack Signal is (and isn’t)

Snack Signal is a marketplace that connects mobile food vendors with nearby residents: vendors broadcast their live location while out on a shift, and residents can “raise the snack signal” to invite a truck to their location.

We are not the seller. Vendors are independent businesses; any purchase you make happens directly between you and the vendor, off the platform. We don’t process payments, set prices, prepare food, or employ vendors. Snack Signal today does not include in-app payments, ordering, or scheduled routes.

Who can use it

  • Residents must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission.
  • Vendors must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
  • You’re responsible for your account and for keeping your password private. One account per person; don’t impersonate anyone.

Location sharing — what you’re agreeing to

Location is the heart of the product, so we’re explicit about it:

  • Vendors: while you are “live”, your device’s location is broadcast to app users so residents can see your truck approaching — including while the app is in the background. Ending your shift stops the broadcast immediately.
  • Residents: when you raise a signal, its pin location (plus your party size and any note) is shared with the vendor you summoned. If you save a home location, we use it to send you nearby-truck alerts you can turn off any time.

Vendor responsibilities

If you use Snack Signal as a vendor, you — not Snack Signal — are responsible for your business: holding the required licenses, permits, and insurance; complying with food-safety, traffic/parking, and local vending laws (including any rules about selling near schools or to minors); the quality and safety of what you sell; and honoring the signals you accept in good faith.

Community rules

Don’t misuse the platform. That includes: raising fake signals or summoning trucks in bad faith; harassing vendors or residents; scraping or reselling location data; posting ratings that are fraudulent, defamatory, or written for a business you own or compete with; probing or disrupting the service; or using Snack Signal for anything illegal. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Ratings and other content you post

You own what you write. By posting a rating, note, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host and display it as part of operating and promoting the service. Keep ratings honest and based on your own experience; we may remove content that violates these Terms.

The service is provided “as is”

We work hard to keep Snack Signal accurate and available, but live locations, ETAs, and addresses are estimates and can be wrong or delayed; vendors may not respond to a signal; and the service may be interrupted. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNACK SIGNAL IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JAMNAYTAC LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY DISPUTE BETWEEN YOU AND A VENDOR OR RESIDENT (INCLUDING ANYTHING YOU BUY FROM A VENDOR). OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (WHICH, TODAY, IS $0). Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Ending things

You can stop using Snack Signal and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or put the community at risk; where practical, we’ll tell you why.

Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date, and for significant changes we’ll notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Snack Signal after changes take effect means you accept them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
